You Want To Know More About Being Catholic
What To Do If...   >   You Want To Know More About Being Catholic

Welcome!  We are glad you are interested in learning more about being a Catholic Christian.  The Catholic Church has a special process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) to assist people who are unbaptized or who are baptized in another Christian denomination to discover more about the Catholic Church.

This process starts with Inquiry Gatherings where you may ask questions about the Catholic Church and receive an orientation into the Catholic perspective on Scripture, Sacraments, the Mass and other essentials. No commitment or registration is required to attend these gatherings.

Inquiry Gatherings are held on the first three Sundays of each month after our 9:30 AM service (approximately 11 AM) in Room 201 in our two story Community Center Building. Usually a person would attend these gatherings for two or three months before making a decision about becoming Catholic and moving into the second phase of the process, a more formal study period of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.

For more information contact Margaret McDermott 713 789-1250, ext. 232 or mmcdermott@stcyrilhouston.org.  You might also check out the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston website at www.archgh.org/learnmore
